We are a movement of clinicians, patients , and engineers - driven by our personal journeys.

The mental health crisis is accelerating – with no end in sight. And unmet needs persist - even with treatment.

Meet our team

  • Clara Guo

    DOCTOR FOUNDER

Clara was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She stumbled across neuroscience in high school and fell in love – what makes us who we are and why? At Dartmouth, she majored in neuroscience (phi beta kappa) and was Co-Captain of Dartmouth’s Figure Skating Club.

After school, she was a life sciences consultant. She led teams tackling strategic issues for pharma and digital health.

She cares deeply about suicide prevention, after having lost several classmates. To Lucid, she brings the clinical perspective and an understanding of U.S. healthcare.

  • Aleks Galaszewicz

    PATIENT FOUNDER

Aleks was born and raised in Poland. She spent her adolescence as a competitive ballroom dancer. She received her Master’s in Strategic Management at HEC Paris and bopped around Europe as a McKinsey consultant, where she specialized in consumer and the public sector.

She moved to the States in 2022 for her MBA at Yale, with dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.

More personally, though, she has been in and out of mental health treatment for nearly a decade. To Lucid, she brings the patient perspective and her consumer background.

  • Nick Kim

    TECH LEAD

Nick was born and raised in Northern Virginia. (Fun fact: he and Clara grew up ~10 minutes away from each other!). Professionally, he graduated from University of Virginia with a Master’s in Data Science and has spent 6+ years working as a full-stack machine learning engineer.

He has extensive experience working with startups - as employee number 7 and number 2000.

To Lucid, he brings his technical expertise and experience advising multiple early-stage startups and building AI products from the ground-up.

Our Founding Story

Clara and Aleks founded Lucid in 2023

Our story starts in November 2022. After 10 years of ambiguous diagnoses and a trial-and-error loop of treatments, Aleks finally received the right diagnosis at Yale. It was life changing.

Aleks and Clara met the day after. They spent an hour chatting about mental health and their own experiences. Both realized that they share a mission of reimaging how psychiatric care is delivered.

In January 2023, Clara and Aleks officially began Lucid.Care Labs
